I'm sorry that the event was cancelled, despite clear indication that it would go on even if it rained. We received some rain yesterday, but there was a threat of a flooding situation, even though the area has been gripped by a long-lasting drought. (BTW: the projected flooding didn't occur. Surprise, surprise!) Nevertheless, I can understand the concern not to pull a Murray Hamilton, JAWS situation, but how about at least rescheduling? Right now, there seems no intent to reschedule the big NIGHT OUT. Really, this was to be a police/public appreciation event, but it appears that under the current, local administration, why bother? The event was no more than an obligatory insert, designed to be squashed at the earliest convenience by those who are, quite frankly, anti-cop.
