R.I.P. ANGELA PLEASENCE

Like your dad, Donald, you were an exceptional, varied thespian, with the means to draw one in and pluck at every, emotional chord.

You even teamed with your father in the effective, Amicus anthology, From Beyond the Grave, as well as The Barchester Chronicles, and more than held your own in the psychological thriller, Symptoms, and the supernatural chiller, The Godsend

There's so much more, of course, with appearances in The Six Wives of Henry VIIILes Misérables (1978), A Christmas Carol (1984), Here We Go Round the Mulberry BushGangs of New YorkHitler: The Last Ten DaysAnastasia: The Mystery of AnnaDestiny of a Spy, The Love BanStealing HeavenSilas Mariner: The Weaver of Raveloe (1985), The Search for John GissingCider with Rosie, DoctorsGirls on TopThe GigolosPaul TempleChurchill's People, Mansfield Park, Whitechapel, Agatha Christie's PoirotAgatha Christie's MarpleCasualtyPlay for TodayPlay of the MonthThe English ProgrammeCoronation StreetAquariusCrime TravellerDoctor Who ... and Dr. Terror's House of Horrible.

Your distinct persona was unforgettable, Ms. Pleasence, making you one of the best character performers to distinguish the big and small screen. What you gave was seasoned and fresh, wry and forceful. I, for one, will miss you greatly, but will rejoice in your presence whenever I revisit one of your many remarkable works.
