She-Hulk Crashes Disney+

I've always had a thing for She-Hulk and long anticipated a film version (in particular when she was to have hit the screen in a Larry Cohen adaptation starring Brigitte Nielsen). Now she's part of the Disney+ line-up, directed by Kat Coiro and starring amiable Titiana Maslany in the titular role, aka attorney, Jennifer Walters.

Per advanced publicity, the nine-part She-Hulk: Attorney at Law looks like it'll be ironic and not too serious. (In other words, one shouldn't expect something along the somber lines of the classic, Bill Bixby/Lou Ferrigno Incredible Hulk television series.) Even so, I suppose She-Hulk will tackle social issues (with Walters being a lawyer and all), but I hope it doesn't polarize viewers in so doing. It would be nice if this one turns out to be basic, quality escapism.

In addition to the evident eye candy that Maslany and her curvy, green goliath will supply, there's Jameela Jamil as the adversarial Titania, who's joined by the lovely Ginger Gonzoga and Renee Elise Goldberry. (To stay linked to The Avengers movies, Mark Ruffalo reprises his role as the hulking Bruce Banner, accompanied by Tim Roth as Hulk's fierce rival, Abomination and Benedict Wong as sorcerer supreme Wong.)

Again, I was rather hoping that the Sensational, Savage She-Hulk would enter the Marvel Multiverse in a big-screen/big-budget treatment, but a longer-haul, live-action intro is just as cool, if the truth be known. (Seems to have worked more than okay for Moon Knight, right?)

No matter if the show should be amusing, serious or somewhere in between, She-Hulk crashes through on August 18th. Can't wait!

  1. Ah, so the Murdock appearance arrived! There were enough hints as of late, but hints are one thing, Daredevil's articulated, attorney presence is a whole other.
