Where does one begin and end with a career as long and illustrious as yours, Mr. Stockwell?
To those of imagi-renderings, it's clear how and why you stood out, with regular roles on Quantum Leap (as Al) and Battlestar Galactica's revival (as Brother Cavil).
You also left an indelible impression through your guest-starring roles in such unique fare as Rod Serling's Night Gallery; The Twilight Zone (the original and initial revival); Roald Dahl's Tales of the Unexpected; Orson Welles' Great Mysteries; Star Trek: Enterprise; Stargate SG-1, Dune '84; Blue Velvet; The Time Guardian; Deep in the Darkness; and held prestigious leads in The Werewolf of Washington and The Dunwich Horror '70.
There was also your breakthrough role in the cult classic, The Boy With Green Hair; in addition to The Happy Years; Kim; Home Sweet Homicide; Deep Water; Down to the Sea in Ships; Anchors Aweigh; The Secret Garden '49; Gentleman's Agreement; The Loners; The Arenlo Affair; The Romance at Rosy Ridge; The Green Years; The Valley of Decision; Son of the Thin Man; Paper Man; The Failing of Raymond; Won Ton Ton; Wrong is Right; The Manchurian Candidate '04; Bonanza; Bonanza: the Return; Wagon Train; The Streets of San Francisco; The A-Team; Simon & Simon; Hart to Hart; Cannon; Columbo; JAG and Crash, to name but a significant smattering.
You always were and always will be one of my all-time favorite performers, Mr. Stockwell, and I know I'm not alone in trumpeting that. May you now leap into the heavens, where your charismatic spirit and inexhaustible talent will take perpetual root.
