Adarkah Ianqu's thematic compilations keep rollin'. For the hot-off-the-press Human Imperantology, fans get an EP, with three epic tracks that reference earthy adventure.
On the immediate surface, the content seems Tarzan inspired, though it could work as well for Korak, Bomba, B'wana Beast, the Phantom (aka the Ghost Who Walks), Ki-Gor, Ka-Zar and of course, sexy Sheena.
"Jungle Wars" is the crafty kick-off: a steamy blast of electronic, jungle beats and simulated, native warbles. It's subdued at first, but then carves a strong, exotic strand, bringing to mind pythons and apes, rhinos and lions, living free as some great, feral king presides over them.
"Blazing River" is its follow-up: soft and chirping at first, but like "Jungle Wars" adapts a formidable pace. The track could easily accompany the wild, river sequence of "Tarzan's Secret Treasure". On the other hand, it might strike more sensitive ears as otherworldly, as though a vicious, alien predator has descended upon the jungle to engage in a heated exchange.
The third track, "Practical Chase" might orchestrate that entity's ensuing melee, or perhaps it's more Cornel Wilde deterring death in "The Naked Prey". It might also represent the flight of dastardly poachers, as they're pursued by a vengeful jungle lord. In this respect, a just comeuppance could be said to reside within the selection's whistling oscillations, leading to a summit that's as spellbinding as it's lethal.
Human Imperantology is the perfect, primal way to unleash one's unbridled beast. Grab it by the vine and let its untamed sounds swing:
