RIP RICHARD ERDMAN...

Man oh man, you sure did cover some exceptional acting turf, Mr. Erdman, visiting so many of our favorites among so many genres.

In high-powered action/adventure, outlandish comedy and moving melodrama, you were an exemplary prince, with tasty roles in "Face of Fire" (an utmost, underrated gem); "Aladdin and His Lamp"; "The Brass Bottle": "The Time of Your Life"; "The Men"; "Marines, Let's Go"; "Wild Blue Yonder"; "Rawhide Trail"; "Tora! Tora! Tora!"; "Trancers"; "The Pagemaster"; "Bangazi"; "Objective, Burma!"; "Janie": "Jumping Jacks"; "The Stooge"; "Francis in the Navy"; "Mr. Majestyk"; "Namu, the Killer Whale"; "Rascal": "Cry Danger"; "Danger Signal"; "Deception"; "Shadow of a Woman"; "The San Francisco Story"; "Saddle in the Wind"; "Mission Over Korea"; "Wild Harvest"; "The Steel Lady"; "Stewardess School"; "Empire State Building Murders"; and the timeless "Stalag 17".

Your television appearances were also plentiful, which include "The Six Million Dollar Man"; "The Bionic Woman"; "The Amazing Spider-man"; "Alfred Hitchcock Presents"; "Hogan's Heroes"; "Gomer Pyle"; "Perry Mason"; "Lou Grant"; "Quincy"; "Disneyland": "Duck Tales"; "The Pirates of Dark Water"; "I Dream of Jeannie"; "Murder, She Wrote" and for an impressive fifty-three episodes, "Community".

For "Twilight Zone" fans, in particular, you'll be cherished for your portrayal of Patrick Thomas McNulty in Rod Serling/Michael D. Rosenthal's "A Kind of Stopwatch". We've all known a McNulty at one time or another, and you personified his persistent spirit spot-on.

May your time in the Great Beyond be as prolific as it was on Earth, as we continue to relish and exalt your many resplendent achievements.
